Pow Pow! Let’s kick and punch our way into the martial arts and fighting theme! For this month we want to see your favorite martial arts or fighting video games, anime, movies, and more!

As we approach the deadline for this theme we wanted to give you all some ideas for your submissions and the type of content that we’re looking to feature in this month’s issue!

So get those cosplays ready, grab your cameras and photographers, and take a look at the rest of this article for some inspiration!

  • Fighting Games

Of course fighting games are going to be a big part of this issue! Some great picks for this issue would be things like Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, Soul Caliber, Tekken, and more! How long have you been playing these games? Do you have a favorite fighter that you main? What about a favorite game in the series? Tell us all about it in your submission!

  • Anime Fighters

Anime is a treasure trove of great fighters and martial artists! From the classics like Dragon Ball and Fist of the North Star to newer favorites like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure! What are some of your favorite anime fighters? What kind of battles do they face and what obstacles do they overcome?

  • Action Photos

Did you get that perfect action shot? Something mid movement, full of the energy of combat? Action photography is always so cool to see, and we think this type of photography would line up perfectly with this theme! Because what is martial arts and fighting without a little bit of action?

  • Special Powers

Does your favorite fighter have a special power? Some kind of cool abilities? What about secret moves? What makes them stand out among the other fighters? We would love to see how you represent what makes your character unique through your cosplay and photography! Whether you have crafted something to physically represent those abilities or have digitally created something in photo editing- we want to see it in this issue!

  • Combat

Everything for a martial artist comes together in the moment of combat! Do you have any shoots with multiple characters facing off against each other? Maybe you’ve recreated an iconic moment or scene from the source material! Face offs and fights are everything this month!

Feeling inspired by the ideas listed above? Have an idea that isn’t listed here? We’d love to see it! We are accepting submissions for this issue until the end of the day on August 1st 2021!
