Cosplay Realm Magazine’s May 2021 Theme: Crafting

Submission Deadline: Open now through April 1st

Issue Release Date: May 1st 2021

We want to celebrate those incredible crafters in the cosplay community! Whatever your favorite thing to craft is, now is the time to highlight it! Whether you like sewing, crafting armor, wig styling, prop construction, electronics, or any of the many other skills used in cosplay! This is a great time to show off any cosplays that you look at and immediately think “Wow! A lot of time must have gone into that!”.

Want some more ideas for the types of content we’re looking to feature in this issue? This article outlines a few different submission ideas that you could send in to us this month!

  • Cosplay Builds

Have you documented a cosplay build? We’d love to see it! Did you have to learn something new for this project? How long did the project take to complete? Share your progress photos, tell us about your experience putting it together, and then share some photos of the final product!

  • Commissions

Are you a cosplayer that takes commissions? This issue is the perfect place to advertise your services! Show off some examples of your work! You could tell us about your favorite types of projects to work on, tell us about one of your favorite past projects, tell CRM readers about your commission process and how they could work with you for a project in the future!

  • Detail Work

What is your favorite detail that you put into a cosplay? We would love to see some close ups of your favorite details in addition to the full costume! Seeing those details up close can really make us appreciate even more all of the work that went into the cosplay!

  • Hidden Work

We all have work that can’t be “seen” just by looking at a cosplay. Do you have electronics controlling lights that run underneath your cosplay armor? Did you put special work into designing your costume to be easier to wear at conventions? Did you add pockets into your cosplay? Tell us about some of those behind the scenes crafting details!

  • Unique Designs

Is your cosplay based on a unique design? Maybe you made your own version of a character to cosplay, or based it on an artist’s design with it’s own unique traits. Tell us about the design of your cosplay and how that factored into the crafting process for you!

  • Tutorials & Guides

Want to help educate the readers? Instructions, tutorials, guides, and tips are always welcome! We’d love to learn by your example!

Feeling inspired by the ideas listed above? Have an idea that isn’t listed here? We’d love to see it! We are accepting submissions for this issue until the end of the day on April 1st 2021!
